Chase Your Own Waterfall

Nice to meet you.

We’re Danielle & Aaron Wong.

Chase Your Own Waterfall means to seek joy and adventure. We sold everything we owned and embarked on our adventure: traveling the world. We’ve learned a lot along the way, including how to budget, travel sustainably, and the importance of mental health.

We’ve been all over the world together. We’ve explored glaciers in Iceland, camped in Scotland, beach hopped in Costa Rica, and eaten our way through Italy. And all along the way, I’ve written down my thoughts. I’ve shared stories. I’ve collected advice  (a lot of times the hard way) for any interested parties. Below you’ll find them sorted by location. There are more that aren’t so location specific, too. Browse to your heart’s content.

Everywhere we go (literally), I take pictures. I always have my camera in hand, ready to document life as we encounter it that day. Sometimes I seek out opportunities for beautiful pictures, and sometimes they just find me. Either way, I have a ridiculous amount of pictures of our travels, food, and life in general.

I never imagined I’d be here. Wherever ‘here’ is at the moment. I always thought I’d get a secure job with a nice 401K and settle down. But here I am, unemployed and essentially homeless. And I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I saw where I was headed, and I wasn’t ready to settle. So I made a plan, and I made it happen. And now, six months into our travels, I wouldn’t change a thing. I get to spend every day with the man I love, having crazy adventures, sleeping in, and eating…just about everything.

It’s not easy. But it’s worth it.
